dike - legal documents

dike (beta) is an application for the electronic management of legal documents. Suitable for lawyers, law offices and law firms, provides ease of use through a web browser interface, language support in English and Greek and can be deployed in servers, desktops and notebooks.

It has been developed and tested on LAMP servers, that is servers, desktops or notebooks equipped with a GNU/Linux operating system, Apache web server, MySQL DBMS and the PHP language. The number of databases per MySQL instance depends on the available storage capacity. The application has been tested on Kubuntu and openSUSE and it can be used in computers equipped with operating systems that follow the FHS standard, although the installation process may be slightly different for different systems.

Interaction between the databases and the user is possible through the MySQL query browser and/or a web browser interface. Web browsers that follow web standards are recommended. Testing with Firefox, Konqueror, Opera shows good results regarding user experience.

s.MAll

s.MAll is an application that allows users to build electronic marketplaces for the provision and exchange of goods and services. s.MAll provide technical users (developers, software engineers) with a platform of basic features and a default, minimalistic website design. Those who prefer more fancy stuff, are expected to get involved with web development and design. The user interface, to this moment, supports the Greek language only.

Retail shopping will be a feature of a next version. For the current version, the database allows up to 65535 numbered orders and the basket can contain up to 12 items. This means that customers, who would like to buy more items, have to complete the order and proceed to a new one. A credit card payment option is not active by default and it should be activated during configuration, in case users are allowed to pay by credit card. For possible improvements, please check Comparison_of_shopping_cart_software

In case you'd like to download the code: download, unpack, read VERSION_HISTORY and follow the instructions in INSTALL before deploy.

healcalc

healcalc is a heat loss calculator with multilingual support. It calculates the heat loss of a room in Watt, BTU/h and kcal/h. It takes into account the in and out temperature difference, the material and dimensions of the room surfaces (walls, doors, windows, floor, ceiling), the orientation of each surface and the air gaps and ventilation as a percent of the total heat loss.

healcalc can become part of other web applications provided that those meet the standards of the AGPL license. To get an idea on how healcalc works, you may try its deployment for art-cool and homeimprove.
